Nike' Parton is a nationally renowned artist has been listed in the "Personalities of the South", "Who's Who in the East" and "Who's Who in Art". Her artwork has been included in permanent collections at the University of Florida, Stetson University and the Encyclopedia Brittanica Educational Corporation. She has been widely renowned in Sarasota for her numerous exhibits and frequent invitations to select group shows. At one time, she was a popular art teacher who taught classes at the Manatee Art League, as well as private group lessons that were frequently held around the Sarasota area. A New York native, Parton came to Sarasota in the 1950's and found her niche largely in landscape paintings and portraits, along with some glass-work and sculpture. Nature, particularly in the Southwest Florida region, is a common theme in her artwork.
